Mike Langellier – Orr Fellow Class of 2004

Mike Langellier was one of only ten graduates selected to participate in the third year of the Orr Fellowship program. In 2004, he earned his Bachelors of Arts from DePauw University, specializing in Communication, English, and Economics.

As one of the first Orr Fellows, Mike worked alongside the best and brightest minds in Indiana. The program was an applied-training vehicle for other future entrepreneurs and organizational leaders similar to Mike.

Mike was placed with his host company, Baker Hill, as a Consultant. Baker Hill (now Experian) was a financial services company whose products and services automate and manage the entire loan process. During his tenure with the firm, Mike provided advice and analysis to financial institutions to help them improve their lending processes. He also created a new service that enabled clients to better quantify and understand the risk in their portfolios.

His exposure in the financial services industry—along with the experiences and mentorship received in the fellowship—inspired his entrepreneurial spirit. In July of 2010, Mike co-founded MyJibe.com, a web-based tool that helps individuals manage and plan their personal finances. MyJibe also helps financial advisors, financial planners, banks, and credit unions connect in a more powerful, efficient, and sophisticated ways with their customers’ financial lives.

Mike credits much of the success in his entrepreneurial endeavors to the community and business foundations built around the Orr Fellowship.

MyJibe is set to launch October of 2010. Visit www.myjibe.com to learn more.

“The Orr Fellowship has been career and life changing for me. I met my wife through the Fellowship, and the experience, confidence, and network of contacts and advisors I gained through the Fellowship prepared me to start my business (myJibe). Many smart, driven people will be individually successful. However, when smart, driven people are brought together and empowered with experience, confidence, and a powerful network, extraordinary things can happen. That’s what the Orr Fellowship does. Extraordinary things have and will continue to happen, and I look forward to seeing and being part of it.” - Mike Langellier
